Background: Smoked a lot of shisha in shisha cafe's and also quite a bit in other countries. I've only ever had the really cheap pipes that fall apart within 2 years and smoke like a wheezing asthmatic. So this is my first decent shisha and for the price, I would place it as a good beginners pipe. My first impressions after opening the box was simply"wow". The quality was obvious. The middle section (stem) alone weighs more than the whole of my other shisha! It all screws together nicely, and the glass jar which screws to the stem is a nice touch which saves a lot of faffing about with rubber grommets. The quality of the all components was amazing, even the ash tray and tongs. So my first smoke was with Layalina Ocean mist. It wasn't very impressive, the smoke wasn't much better than my old pipe but the flavour was decent. The one difference I could notice straight away was the air-flow was a lot smoother and the whole things smokes a lot quieter. I'm no expert at setting up though so I put this session down to human error. My second smoke I packed in a lot more tobacco. This made all the difference and it was smoking like a dream...flavour good, air flow good, smoke was thick...basically everything I had hoped for. My only (very slight....so slight I'd still give it 5/5) is the quality of the box, it doesn't seem to close evenly on both sides and on the inside, it looks like the glue they use to keep the sides down wasn't strong enough. But other than that, the box itself is a work of art and a lot of thought has gone into it. All in all, very happy with the purchase...I just need to find a good, reliable place to buy more exotic flavours or try tangiers with it!
